Naini lake is the soul of Nainital.Nainitaal is incomplete without Nani Lake.Due to this fact Nainital is also Known as ‘Lake District of India’.

Nainital is a very famous tourist place and needs no introduction. Nainital is located at an altitude of 1,938 meters above of sea level  in the picturesque  Kumaon region of Uttrakhand. Uttrkahnd is a Himlayan state in India. This beautiful city is surrounded by Seven mountains or the Sapta Shring.

There are many tourist places in this tiny state. Nainitaal is one of those tourist place that is a traveller’s paradise. Greatness of Himalya and beauty of serene nature makes this place ‘Must Visit’ place. Some other important places of Nainital’s are Haldwani Kaladhungi, Ramnagar Bhowali Ramgarh Mukteshwar Bhimtal Sattal and Naukuchiatal.

There are total 64 Shakti peeths (Temple of Sati) and Naina Devi temple is one of the Shakti Peeth.

Eye of Sati fell down at Nainitaal when angry and disillusioned Lord Shiva was carrying Sati’s  body all over the world. Modern day Nainitaal was discovered by Britishers in 1941 as a Holiday resort .

Nainital is also famous for various educational Schools and Research Institutes.

The Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES) is also situated in Nainital on Manora Peak it is 9-10 km from Nainital for astronomical studies.

St Joseph’s College and Sainik School are world famous school of Nainital.
